Oh friends this is an exciting one. I am a huge fan of Alexis deBoschnek’s first book To the Last Bite, and when I heard she was writing a second book called Nights & Weekends, I couldn’t wait to flip through the pages.
Nights and Weekends: Recipes That Make the Most of Your Time - A Cookbook by Alexis deBoschnek will be released on August 12 with a mix of recipes for weeknights and weekend entertaining, bringing ease and fresh ideas to both. This is a perfect book heading into the height of summer produce, preparing meals for the end of summer gatherings and leading into the business of back to school and fall routines.
This month, I am throwing a Substack Dinner Party around Nights & Weekends, including a recipe feature from the book–Everything Bagel Tomato Panzanella.
Setting the Table
This affair would be set at the entrance of the garden, to take in the lush and overflowing garden beds. The menu makes a perfect light lunch or dinner for four, an intimate gathering as you soak in the peek of summer. I love an Orange Wine here, it would pair well with both the sweet, rich flavor of cherry tomatoes, and the briny, salty clams. Tuck in to a summer night in the garden.
