I am loving the community on Substack. There are so many brilliant creators, and I am inspired everyday to create, cook or learn something new.

Setting the Table
We have arrived in August, the height of summer here in the Midwest. I was hesitant to plan this dinner party, overwhelmed by the volume of in-season produce. I honed into some Substack recipes that I believe celebrate the very best crops of August.
As far as the location of this affair, I would set a long table along a space in our yard we call ‘the prairie’. It is full of pollinator plants, and it is so fun to watch the butterflies and bees flit about, a perfect view for an August dinner party. This dinner would be for ten to twelve guests, a larger gathering to send summer off well.
